Stan Alleyne, Co-Founder + CEO
Stan Alleyne is a nationally recognized strategic advisor and communications expert dedicated to advancing social change through innovative communications, emerging technology, and creative partnerships. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Alleyne, Matlock & Associates, Stan guides C-suite leaders, government officials, nonprofit executives, and entrepreneurs in solving complex challenges and amplifying their impact through transformative strategies.

With a career spanning both the private and public sectors, Stan specializes in helping senior leaders and organizations navigate crisis communications, issues management, diversity engagement, leadership transitions, and inclusive communications. He regularly speaks at national conferences on these topics with a focus on reaching communities of color and marginalized groups.

Stan’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident through his work with UzObi, a healthcare platform revolutionizing advanced healthcare directives, and Vitals Aware Services, where he helped launch The Vitals™ App to improve public safety interactions for individuals with medical or mental health conditions.

Before founding Alleyne, Matlock & Associates, he was a Senior Consultant at Tunheim, specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for nonprofits, foundations, and educational institutions.
Before transitioning to consulting, Stan built a successful career in education, serving as a Chief Communications Officer for Minneapolis Public Schools and Buncombe County Schools in North Carolina.
Additionally, Stan served as Vice President of Diversity Engagement for the National School Public Relations Association, and led the creation of the organization’s first diversity, equity, and inclusion toolkit, now used nationwide by school leaders.



Jason Matlock, Co-Founder + COO
Jason Matlock is a nationally recognized leader in public safety with a career distinguished by a deep commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment while focusing on community accountability. With over 25 years of experience across law enforcement and school safety, Jason is widely respected for his expertise in school climate, security, and emergency management, regularly advising public institutions and education leaders across the country. His guidance is often sought at the national level for issues ranging from behavioral threat assessment to effective crisis response, particularly in complex, high-stakes situations.

He provides essential leadership and subject matter expertise on school safety practices to AMA clients. In this role, he oversees large-scale project implementations, manages critical partnerships, and ensures that best practices in safety and threat assessment are tailored to meet state standards and legislative mandates. He collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to refine security solutions, focusing on enhancing school resilience, fostering secure learning environments, and equipping staff with the tools needed to respond to threats and daily occurrences effectively. Jason also leads training initiatives, bringing his experience to topics such as threat identification, mitigation strategies, and compliance with emerging safety standards. His expert knowledge guides organizations throughout the process of designing an immediate response and developing long term goals for their desired climate.
Jason’s career began in law enforcement, where he served as a patrol officer before moving into a School Resource Officer (SRO) role. This transition inspired him to pursue a career in school safety, where he dedicated himself to fostering secure yet inclusive educational spaces. His most impactful tenure was as the Director of Emergency Management, Safety, and Security for Minneapolis Public Schools. For nearly 13 years, Jason led the department in transforming school security strategies to prioritize a holistic, student-centered approach. Under his leadership, Minneapolis Public Schools became one of the first major urban districts to reduce reliance on punitive measures and law enforcement, focusing instead on equitable practices that emphasized student well-being without compromising safety. It is this leadership that centers on not repeating incidents and cultivating relationships at all levels of the community.

Jason’s contributions to school safety extend far beyond Minneapolis. Through keynote presentations, workshops, and school board consultations nationwide, he continues to advocate for safety strategies that balance security with compassion. Jason’s work has shaped policies and influenced school districts seeking to foster environments that are both protective and supportive, providing a model for other districts grappling with similar challenges. Throughout his career, Jason has developed a vast skill and empathy for assisting stakeholders recover after unspeakable tragedies.

Jason earned his Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and holds a Bachelor’s in Law Enforcement.
Amy Sousa
​Advisor & Consultant
With over 20 years of senior-level marketing and communications experience, Amy Sousa brings a wealth of expertise to the AMA team, combining an advanced degree in public relations with a background in healthcare, nonprofits, and journalism.
Throughout her career, Amy has been passionate about helping people and organizations get "unstuck." As a problem-solver, she combines intuition with data-driven, evidence-based principles of persuasion. Since launching her consulting career in the fall of 2019, she has honed these skills further, developing a distinctive approach that blends strategy, creativity and business intelligence.
Her career spans both public and private sectors, where she has held senior positions in marketing, business development, communications, and community relations. Amy has been a trusted advisor to CEOs and has worked with a diverse range of clients, including small businesses, community hospitals, county health departments, physician groups, wellness programs, and health and human service organizations. Her efforts have earned her more than 20 national and regional awards.
Amy is also a dedicated small business champion, having supported entrepreneurs throughout her career. She currently serves as an advisor for the Santa Cruz County Small Business Development Center and Deputy Editor of Santa Cruz Vibes Magazine. Previously, she worked with the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce.
Kaitlyn Beaver
Digital Communications Consultant
With extensive expertise in digital communications, Kaitlyn Beaver brings a dynamic skill set to the AMA team, including proficiency in websites, newsletters, social media, email campaigns, paid social, video marketing, search engine optimization, text communications, and more. Her ability to transform strategies into actionable results has helped countless organizations grow and thrive.

Kaitlyn’s career spans nonprofit, workforce development, and small business sectors, giving her a unique perspective on how to connect people, strategies, and solutions that drive impact. As the Success and Connect Team Lead for Dr. Sabrina Starling — international bestselling author, business psychologist, and founder of Tap the Potential — Kaitlyn has gained valuable insights into building high-performing teams and sustainable organizations.

Previously, Kaitlyn served as Digital Media Producer for EDSI, where she spearheaded a complete overhaul of the Pennsylvania agency’s digital presence, creating systems and strategies that elevated its outreach and engagement during her four year tenure there. In 2017, she helped launch Patriots Cove, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering veterans, first responders, and caregivers, serving as its director of marketing and development for six years.
